Sniffles' Friends
The holidays are here and we hope you’ll be enjoying quality time with your
family and friends!  Please remember these things so your pets stay safe
and enjoy the good cheer:
  • Animals can suffer from frostbite and hypothermia so please don’t
leave them outside during winter weather.
  • Fatty and high sodium foods like poultry skin can cause pancreatitis
which can be life threatening.  Turkey bones are especially
dangerous for pets, so ditch them!  If you want to give your pet a
special treat buy something pet appropriate at your local pet bakery.
  • If you have a Christmas tree don’t let your pet drink the water
because it can contain dangerous fertilizers from the tree residue.
Things like tinsel and garland can become lodged in your pet’s
esophagus or intestines if they try to eat it so use with care
  • Antifreeze tastes sweet to animals but it’s fatal.  Steer clear of
puddles and always observe your dog during walks.  Store your
antifreeze somewhere safe and out of reach.

Pet Tips and Tricks
Five Ways Pets Improve Your Health
1.They prevent allergies: studies show people who have pets build a
stronger immune system.
2. Pets are friend magnets: animals are natural conversation starters and
can help you meet new people if you’re shy!
3. Pets benefit the elderly: caring for a pet offers exercise and friendship.
4. Pets do your mind and body good: pets reduce anxiety, depression and
they help lower your blood pressure.
5. Pets are good for your heart: pet owners who suffer from a heart attack
will live longer than those who are petless. Studies have shown that men
who own pets have lower cholesterol.
