POPEYE FINDS A HOME: During the summer
of 2008 we ran this photo of Popeye, an
adorable Pomeranian who had many injuries
after being hit by a car and abandoned by its
owner. After running Popeye's photo and
story in the
Chestnut Hill Local, a new home
was found for him in Mt. Airy with a very nice
pediatrician, her 8-year-old daughter and
one very bashful kitty cat who have all fallen
madly in love with Popeye (and vice versa).
POPEYE'S STORY:
One of our Sniffles and Friends dog walkers called Sue and Eric Senn at 10pm
one night during the summer of 2008, saying that she and a few of her friends
had found a small dog who had obviously been hit by a car.

Sue and Eric immediately drove to the scene to find a frightened little
Pomeranian whose left eye was out of the socket, and how had some cuts and
bruises on his front legs, and a dislocated shoulder. While Sue was busy
rushing the dog to the vet the next morning for emergency care, the people
who found him walked around the neighborhood asking who he the dog
belonged to.
They even posted ads on the Internet asking for the owner to come forward
because the dog was in need of immediate veterinary attention. No one did.
They asked around further. No one knew who the dog belonged to. A few
people said, "Oh, that's the dog who is always running around here. He doesn't
belong to anyone".

Thanks to Dr. Cindy and the kind folks at Girard Vet Clinic, our little guy
appropriately became 'Popeye'. They were able to put his eye back into place
and he underwent treatment of his battle wounds, and stayed at Sue and Eric's
house for several weeks recovering.

Many thanks to the
Chestnut Hill Local (click here for the story) for their help in
spreading the word about Popeye's Story and helping him find a wonderful new
home!
